A practical, beginner-friendly statistics course for aspiring data analysts. Learn to think statistically and summarise data with means, medians, spread, percentiles and box plots; understand distributions (normal, binomial, Poisson) and probability, including conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem and expected value for business decisions. Move from samples to conclusions with the Central Limit Theorem, confidence intervals, margins of error and sample-size planning, then test ideas with t-tests, chi-square tests and real A/B experiments. Measure relationships with correlation, simple and multiple regression, and learn to avoid pitfalls such as confounding, Simpson’s paradox and p-hacking. Every chapter uses realistic Indian business datasets (an e-commerce retailer, student results, marketing spend and a checkout A/B test) with Excel formulas, runnable Python, an interactive Statistics Lab and practice MCQs, and finishes with using AI assistants safely for statistical analysis and a portfolio capstone project.
