How these calculators work
How is SIP maturity value calculated?
The SIP calculator uses the future value of an annuity due: FV = P × [((1 + r)^n − 1) / r] × (1 + r), where P is the monthly investment, r is the expected monthly return (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly instalments. Actual mutual fund returns vary and are not guaranteed.
How is a loan EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n / ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the tenure in months. Total interest is EMI × n − P.
How do I calculate GST on a price?
For a GST-exclusive price, GST = price × rate ÷ 100 and the total is price + GST. For a GST-inclusive price, the taxable value is price ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100) and GST is the difference. Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall in the 5% or 18% slabs, with a 40% rate for specified luxury and sin goods; check the applicable rate notification for your item.
Are these calculators financial advice?
No. They give estimates for learning and planning. Returns, interest rates and tax rates depend on the product and current law — confirm with official sources or a qualified adviser before you decide.
